Following the acquisition of gdgt by AOL in February, we are combining forces with Engadget and rebranding our event series as Engadget+gdgt Live.

We created gdgt Live to provide a much-needed platform for technology enthusiasts and technology brands to get to know each other a little better.

Each event provides companies a rare chance to showcase their newest gear to passionate consumers and, just as importantly, to hear what you think.

gdgt Live has been a huge success. Everywhere we go, tech enthusiasts line up to get in and kick the tires of today’s hottest products and services.

Many of the country’s biggest consumer tech companies and hottest startups have participated in multiple gdgt Live events since our first one back in June, 2009. Without exception, they come away feeling like the interactions they have with our attendees are extremely valuable.

WIth the addition of one of the world’s biggest and most respected technology blogs to the marquee, you can expect the events to grow and improve. Engadget will, of course, be promoting the events on the site and through its social channels and we’re already hard at work creating our first conference program with the Engadget editorial team.

Now with gdgt joining the AOL family, combining our gdgt Live events with the Engadget series means we’ll have way more resources for making these the best consumer tech events around,” said gdgt co-founder, Peter Rojas.

The next Engadget+gdgt Live event will be held in New York City on June 24th at 82Mercer, a super cool venue in SoHo. We’ll post more details on that event along with the RSVP link soon.
